Luke and Jack {Walhalla, SC Photographer}

Luke & Jack

Last week I had my first four legged friend session. I have to admit I was a little nervous about it at  first but lucky me this session was for one of my dearest friends :) . Sandi and Tony even cooked me diner…. how awesome was that!?!?!  After our YUMMY diner we took the dogs out and let them go play. Jack is wide open running and playing while Luke is more laid back. A squeaky toy and dog treats were the trick to getting them to “look” at the camera. By the end of the afternoon I made myself two new friends :) !

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Peace & Popsicles,

Lezlie

Kylie {South Carolina Child Photographer}

Meet Kylie!!!

This beautiful little angel is Kylie. She was one of the happiest babies I have ever photographed. A baby as happy as Kylie was Saturday makes my job a breeze :) !! Her session was also one of the quickest session I have ever had. As soon as Tara sat her in the bowl she was all smiles! This bowl is a family heirloom that all the Grand-kids and Great Grand-kids have had their photograph taken in. How awesome is that?!?!? Every time I look at the photos from Kylie’s session it makes me smile :) !! Enjoy :) !!!

I hope everyone has a great day!

Adaya 3 Months {South Carolina Child Photographer}

Meet Adaya! Adaya is the beautiful daughter of Brandy and Chris. She is almost 4 months old and she was such a joy to photograph. Adaya’s Grandmother contacted me right before Adaya was born to set up a newborn session, but due to some complications we had to postpone the session. This beautiful little girl had a rough start but is doing great now Praise GOD!

The braclet Adaya is wearing belonged to her Mommy. I LOVE it when my clients use sentimental items as props in their sessions :) !! I think Adaya is fixing to cut her first tooth because she loved to chew on her fingers during the session. I can’t wait to watch this sweet little angel grow up!!

Blessings,

Lezlie

Hagerman Family {South Carolina Newborn Photographer}

Last week I bloged the twins alone and a few with Grandma who was visiting from Michigan. So of course we had to get some family shots as well so I went back Saturday and I am so glad we decided to!! This session is full of emotion. You can see the love that this family shows for each other. These are a few of my favorite images from Saturday’s session :) ! I have to say that it was hard to narrow it down to just these four!!

Hagerman Twins {South Carolina Newborn Photographer}

 I had my first twin newborn session Saturday. I am so pleased with the images I captured! Both babies slept through the entire session… woohoo!  Amy bathed and fed both babies right before the session and that is what made this session such a success. My photog friend Kathy Ward of Kathy Ward Photography helped me and I couldn’t have done it without her. The two of us make an awesome team :) . These babies are very special to Kathy and me because they belong to some of close friends. I have been blessed with some of the most amazing friends :) ! I can’t wait to watch these two beautiful babies grow up and I feel sure you will see more of them in the future :) !

Both Amy and CJ are Marines so of course we had to have a few shots showing their pride in our country and the addition of their two “grunts”.

All I can say is “I love my job” ;) !

I hope everyone has a great rest of the week ;)

Blessings,

Lezlie

My heart is hurting today….

Three years ago today I had to say goodbye to one of the greatest men on earth… my Papa

My Papa was the only Daddy I ever knew and he took on that role with pride. There is no doubt that my Papa loved me and I know he is looking down on me today smiling. He taught me so much and because of him I am who I am today. I have so many wonderful memories of all the wonderful times I had with my Papa. I also got to watch him as he spoiled my Allie. Papa called Allie “Papa’s Pet” and she was just that! Papa went to heaven a little over a month before Sarah Grace was born. I wish those two could have met. Some of the things she does remind me of him. I often say “look at Willie Butts” as she does something that reminds me of him. Papa fought so hard to make it until Sarah Grace was born but the cancer won. I know that God sent us Sarah Grace to us when he did to help me cope. That little booger knows when Mommy needs “loving”. She will say “Mommy I Love you” or “Mommy I need a hug” at just the right moments and it keeps me pushing on. There are pictures of Papa throughout my home and his shirt is the first thing I see when I open my closet door everyday. There is not a day that goes by that I don’t think of him and I still can’t talk about him without crying. I never knew just how much I depended on him in my everyday life. I miss our talks sitting on the front porch. He always knew what to say or when he just needed to listen.

Photo of me and Papa taken years ago. I love it and as you can tell by the smile on my face I love my Papa!

Over the past three years I have changed and I have dealt with depression. People have come and gone in my life because of me changing but I know that these changes are the best for me and my family. The ones who have loved me and been there for me through this difficult time in my life I cannot thank you enough!

I have learned that life is too short to let others bring you down. I held so much hate in my heart for so many years for people who hurt me or abandoned me. Now I see that those things have made me who I am today and I am pleased with the woman I have become. I am not perfect and I make my share of mistakes. I now know that I can’t worry about every little thing and that life doesn’t have to be perfect. I can’t please everyone or be what some people need me to be and that is ok with me. My family and God are the most important things in my life and they are what make my life worth living. I have strength now that I never knew I had. I would have never thought about pursuing my dream of opening my own photography studio before. I am so glad I took the leap of faith needed to take the first step of starting my business. After all we only have one life to live so let’s live it to the fullest!! I have had times when I felt like the world is against me or I should quit but every time I hit those points I always find a shiny dime lying in the strangest places. I did some research and found out they are called “Dimes from Heaven”. I have a small collection of dimes and I hope to have a piggy bank full one day.

Look how handsome Papa looked on my wedding day! One of the happiest days of my life!

Today is always a hard day for me, but I try to think about all the wonderful memories of my Papa and not at my loss. Thank you to my family and friends that have held my hand, listened to me and been a shoulder to cry on. Words can never express just how much you mean to me. To my loving husband you are my rock and my best friend. Thank you for everything and never leaving my side! Thank you for loving my Papa as if he were your own. I know that he loved you so much. You were just like a son to him and always helped him when he needed you.

In closing I just want to say that we (yes I am including myself in this) as humans are so quick to judge someone based on an opinion of them from what we see on the outside or from what others think. We need to step back and think that we don’t know what people are battling with and sometimes how we react to them effects them more than we know and that there are two sides to every story. After all think about your own life and the things you are dealing with, you wouldn’t want anyone to “misread you”….right? If there is anyone that is reading this that I have mistreated or neglected I am sorry. To my sweet Papa, I miss you and I love you so much. When my times come to leave this earth I hope you are standing at the gate waiting on me!!!

Blessings,

Lezlie

This is one of my favorite photos of my Papa and Allie. This was before he got sick and his face shows the love he had for her.

Sorry the quality of these pictures are not good. most of these are images I had to scan.

Watson kids on the mountain {Walhalla Children’s Photographer}

This past Sunday I got to photograph these beautiful kids at one of my favorite locations!! Chattooga Belle Farm is a breathtaking location for photographs. The farm charges a $50.00 fee to photograph on their property but it is well worth the investment. I think these images speak for themselves :) .

Hannah lives in San Jose California and was here visting her parents last week. She found me through a past client of mine (thank you Sherry)!! This is what made me FINALLY announce my Share the Love Client Referral Program. It was a much needed push to get it started :) .  Hannah’s husband is a soccer coach and was traveling else where, maybe the next trip he can come with them and we can get a family session ;) . Cullen and Callie Jo made my job SO easy!! I mean look at them…. they are BEAUTIFUL kids!! The tricycle was Hannah’s and made the perfect prop for Cullen. Jill Ogg owner of  Froggy Oggy made the adorable headband and ruffle bloomers. Be sure to give Jill a call the next time you need something made. She does a wonderful job and of course her work makes great props :) .

I am going to leave you with my favorite image from this session. Well tell you the truth it is one of my all time favs to date :) !

Happy Thrusday!

Blessings,

Lezlie
